Each piece I make is sculpted with oven-bake polymer clay, baked, and then painted, before I finish it with a polyethylene-based clay glaze, which sets the color and details. The pieces are firm to the touch, but could be broken if enough force is applied. Thus, I'd suggest putting the jewelry in a safe place between wears, and keeping it out of reach of children and pets.
