Frequently asked questions

Each piece I make is sculpted with oven-bake polymer clay, baked, and then painted, before I finish it with a polyethylene-based clay glaze, which sets the color and details. The pieces are firm to the touch, but could be broken if enough force is applied. Thus, I'd suggest putting the jewelry in a safe place between wears, and keeping it out of reach of children and pets.

Since the clay used to make the jewelry hardens when baked, extreme heat conditions should have no negative effect on it. However, the pieces have not yet been tested in conditions of extreme cold, humidity, or excessive water. I expect that they would still be okay, but it would be better to avoid wearing the jewelry in such conditions. Please keep in mind that, since the jewelry is hand-assembled rather than mass-produced, it is possible that extreme wind conditions could cause some of the hardware to separate. I am happy to fix this for you if you are ordering locally, and if not, a simple jewelry repair kit will help you fix it.

All the earring hooks and posts are made of 925 sterling silver, including the gold-colored ones. However, the other hardware on the jewelry, including metal links and wire, is not made of silver.
